T-44
The T-44A is a twin engine turboprop aircraft operated by the U.S. Navy for Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training. The T-44A is the military version of the Model 90 King Air certified under an FAA Type Certification.
In its role as a multiengine trainer, the T-44A offers outstanding strength, durability, and dependability. Its landing gear struts are built to withstand high landing cycles and loads associated with training. Wing spar sections are built of three sections bonded together. Should any one element fail, the other two are stressed to carry the entire load. The T44A has amassed more than 865,000 hours and more than 2.7 million landings.
Sixty one T-44A aircraft were delivered to the USN between 1977 and 1979. Fifty four of these aircraft are still in operation as the primary USN entry level multi engine trainer aircraft.
