Beechcraft T-6A
Hawker Beechcraft won the highly competitive Joint Primary Aircraft Training Program (JPATS) by offering the safest, most capable, and most affordable trainer in the competition. Those are attributes that still hold today. The aircraft offers an unparalleled training experience to the widest variety of pilots of any trainer in the world. To date, over 435 T-6A aircraft have been delivered and the fleet has accumulated over 625,000 hours training pilots. Overall, the JPATS program calls for nearly 800 deliveries through the year 2017, with additional international sales also expected.
The T-6A provides the highest degree of flexibility of any primary trainer. It is equally capable of training the beginner pilot or performing training missions well into an advanced training curriculum.
The T-6A is currently used by the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, the Hellenic Air Force of Greece and the NATO Flying Training in Canada program as a primary trainer and weapons and navigation trainer.
For U.S. services, the T-6A is replacing the Air Force T-37B and the Navy T-34C, both of which were developed in the 1950s.
